Fisher App ("we", "our", "the app") respects your privacy. This policy describes what data we collect, why, and how we handle it.

Data We Collect

• Account: We create an anonymous account using Firebase Authentication. No email, name, or password is required.
• Catch records: Photos, species, weight, location, and notes you enter are stored in Firebase Firestore and Firebase Storage.
• Fishing spots: GPS coordinates you save are stored in Firestore.
• Photos: Images you upload for catch logging and AI fish identification are processed by OpenAI and stored in Firebase Storage.
• Location: Used only when you choose to mark a fishing spot or log a catch location. We do not track your location in the background.
• Purchase history: Managed by Apple and RevenueCat for subscription processing.
• Usage data: Firebase Analytics collects anonymous usage statistics to help us improve the app.
• Crash data: Crash reports help us fix bugs.

How We Use Your Data

Your data is used solely to provide the app's features: storing your catches, showing your spots on the map, identifying fish, and generating fishing forecasts. We do not sell your data.

Third-Party Services

• Firebase (Google) — authentication, database, storage, analytics
• OpenAI — AI fish identification (photos are sent to OpenAI's API for processing)
• RevenueCat — subscription management
• Open-Meteo — weather and marine data for fishing forecasts

Data Retention

Your data is retained as long as your account exists. You can delete your account and all associated data from the app's Settings screen at any time.

Children's Privacy

Fisher App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes

We may update this policy. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
